Uyghur United FC (UUFC) was established in 2005 in Farfax (USA) to represent players of Uyghur heritage in the USA. Now Uyghur United is doing its next step and represents Uyghur people from around the world on the international football stage. Being well-connected to Uyghur communities in all continents they are able to draw the very best Uyghur players in their team.
The Uyghurs are a Turkic ethnic group living in Eastern and Central Asia. Today, Uyghurs live primarily in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autnomous Region of China, where they are on of 55 officially recognized ethnic minorities. Outside of China, significant diasporic communities of Uyghurs exist in the Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and in Turkey. Smaller communities can be found in Europe, Australia and North America. They are all united by their language, Uyghur, and their cultural background.
