Transnistria

The Football Federation of Pridnestrovie (FFP) was established in 2015 and is led by the experienced football manager Margarint Dumitru, who is also the president of one of the countries top clubs – FC Dinamo-Auto – which plays in the Moldovan Divizia A. Until today the Transnistrian national team did not play any international matches, but is eager to start playing very soon.

Transnistria or Pridnestrovie, is an independent state between the River Dniestr and Ukraine, which is currently not recognized by any member of the United Nations. They declared sovereignity in 1990 and where recognized by Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh and South Ossetia in 2006, whilst Moldova until today official declares that Transnistria is a part of Moldova. Regardless of the official status of recognition Transnistria is de-facto independent and self-governed, and thus has an excellent reason to field an own national team.
